As BAD as our economy is our Federal,State, & Local leaders have let us down!

We have HARD WORKING PEOPLE out of work or have to spend MORE to go to work working in OTHER COUNTIES!
This is why I am AGAINST a Supervisor pay raise at this time in ,to many things have to be done with the County budget and a pay raise is 100% not one of the items!!!!
If one is still VOTED in " I WILL NOT ACCEPT IT;I WILL PUT IT BACK IN DISTRICT 2! '
to maintain roads or other projects.
If in a few years and ONLY if our County is up to standard then and only then will I vote for a pay raise.
Our SUPERVISORS' vote in a 6% tax increase and raise their pay 6% I feel that my taxes was raised to take care of their raises;" I WILL work for the pay now set for Supervisors' " for as long as it takes to get things done and if that is 5-10 years or more that is fine with me!!
I am NOT running to get rich I am running to make Pontotoc County better and to work for the people of District 2-I AM NOT IN THIS FOR THE MONEY NOW OR EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are ALL in the same boat;doing ALL the rowing while our SUPERVISOR'S sit back enjoy the FREE ride on us!
They raise our taxes and VOTE IN A PAY RAISE-to do NOTHING about the problems in PONTOTOC COUNTY-I see it they are IN THIS FOR THE MONEY and NOT US!
Our State leaders have said "Our tax revenues are down and we must raise car tags to take care of the short falls."
THIS IS RAISING OUR TAX ON CAR TAGS at a time we can not afford our taxes rasied.
Do they not understand people are out of work.
I got an idea-since most of our elected leaders are Doctors,Lawyers,and good money making people instead of that raise in Jan. 2009 why not forgo your pay for a year or take a pay cut,as in half.
The TAX PAYERS could pay for your gas and Motel room ,with receipts,while your in Jackson but that would help the State budget and then car tags could stay the same.
OH NO I have stepped on some toes;this will probably get me beat during the election,but think about it why would it NOT work.
Being an ELECTED OFFICIAL is an HONOR and a PRIVILEDGE to serve the PEOPLE of your district-it should not be a way to get rich quick.
Cost cutting-not tax increasing is the way to have a good budget this is why "I" am against a pay raise for Supervisors's untill the economy is back up.
I have a good friend of mine the place he works took a pay cut to keep it in buisness.
This is the sacrifice our citizens are taking to keep their jobs from going over seas or to Mexico why can't our elected officials not do the same?
It would not hurt them as bad as it hurts the PEOPLE of the State of Mississippi.
We have senior citizens on VERY FIXED INCOMES that higher car tags and taxes WILL hurt,it is time to tighten your belts for the people.
Think about it when you drive to Jackson-Pray about it and ask God if it is a good idea,He also served the people not only the State of Mississippi but the world without a car,motel room,sometimes multiplying fish so they could eat and without any pay.
" SERVICE ABOVE SELF" has been my motto all my life,still is today.
YOU have worked hard and pay taxes for what;LOST JOBS-POOR ROADS-PLANT CLOSING or MOVING-POOR FUTURE for YOU,YOUR CHILDREN,& GRANDCHILDREN!
You have given and given to our politicians is it NOT TIME for our Supervisors' to give BACK TO YOU?
I think it is PAST TIME!

When our Supervisor's vote in a RAISE and RAISE our taxes WE ARE WORKING FOR THEM and THEIR RAISES!
Broken politics is what I call it when jobs are gone and may not come back,L O S T,and so many people OUT OF WORK.
